Guts. Gutsy. No Guts, no glory. That took guts.
What an interesting word. It’s kind of an ugly sounding word: hard g, short u, ending with a terse ts. Guts.
The word literally means something kind of ugly: intestines. The body part charged with breaking down food, making waste. Guts.
But the symbolism is amazing. Guts is energy, drive, courage, boldness coming from deep inside ourselves. We all have guts. But very few have guts.
It takes guts to start a business. It takes energy to dream up a concept. It takes courage to advertise. It takes boldness to make promises to potential clients. It takes drive to finish that contract.
We all have intestines, but do you have guts?
